trollyEnd of war
hi everybody, we are many talented members in this forum. everyboy in his domain (idea, web, implementation, graphics, etc...) i think we should work together on a common project allowing everyone to put his talents to serve others. Of course, we could keep the contest, for fun. what are yours opignon, what are your idea?

Wasn't that tried before (Wisent)? It's an interesting idea though. I'm always glad to help anyone anyway.

Maybe instead of trying to work together to develop one monolithic GUI, it would be better if we would take ore care when we wrote our own code to publish subs/functions/code snippets that could be useful to others, and to write them clearly and comment well. It's easier than coordinating one project.
I like both ideas. I have seen a couple group GUIs fail in the past, though.

I agree with Pharoah. Most GUI collaborations don't last long. It's mainly because we never detailed our plans out - most of us just went with it hoping to achieve something and with the sole purpose just being to collaborate yet with nothing to collaborate on.

I think making some sort of repository or source code "bin" of libraries, functions, and useful code would be a great asset to the site and help encourage better GUI practice. For example, when I reviewed Dick's GUI, it had many amazing features built into it which utilized the MS-DOS API through interrupts.

Speaking on a side note, is everyone copying my evil button idea? I saw tacodrake's and now trolly's got one too. I'm just surprised how my joke signature seemed to really catch on.

Well, i would be willing to share my subs and functions, but i would have to add a lot of comments to them so people would understand what each part does without picking apart the code. And yes, i think that the evil button idea is becoming popular.

BrandonRe:End of war
I think the best way (simple usually is a good thing) would be to add a new forum category for subs/functions? Is that agreeable?

DickRe:End of war
All my stuff is open source, and if anyone wants to add something or modify, it's welcome.

JFKRe:End of war
i agree with that. we all remember the Seal 2 wars that went on. lots of great programmers but no plan layout or milestones to be achieved. i think a snippets library would be awesome. doscore may have slow development as we are only a 2 man team but we both have the same ideas and after 4 years its still going. mass collaborations always fail (going from history)
