| Brandon | Brandon Cornell.com is back!Well 1 and 1 gave me a back-up in a sub directory so I'll probably file out the good stuff. Anyways the Fun500 subdomain, http://fun500.brandoncornell.com is back up and running and my main site has a cool new under construction page! http://brandoncornell.com/
This time I think I'll make my site by hand in HTML with a little PHP kind of like the current Fun500 Site. | 2008-10-01 | 5:07 PM |
| Todd | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!Personally, I wouldn't encourage the hacker. I know you're upset and I know what it's like so I can understand the situation. I'd personally not mention anything since he's expecting you to get upset and post something against him. It's just an FYI, but I've seen that happen. One guy posted something that said he hated the hacker and the hacker managed to erase his site account. | 2008-10-01 | 6:29 PM |
| Brandon | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!lol, If he wants to play, I'll play. I pay for my 1and1 account, if they can't keep their servers safe, I'll go somewhere else. | 2008-10-01 | 7:20 PM |
| jasonwoodland | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!Wouldn't you have saved some of your site files on the hard drive?
Just as backup.. | 2008-10-01 | 7:26 PM |
| Brandon | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!My net is super slow, but my super important stuff is backed up. Anyways I got my new site to the point were I am willing to show it publicly, lemme hear what you think. | 2008-10-01 | 8:09 PM |
| Todd | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back! They keep their servers safe, but the problem was the software, CMSimple. It's like saying that a car company isn't good because I can crash their cars into walls and it'll do damage.
Do you see where I'm coming from on this issue? It's not the server's problem but CMSimple's security flaw.
I know the feeling of revenge. But retribution will swiftly follow, just use a guerilla tactic. The kid who brought down Xeta Space years ago did it for fun and I had my fun when I found out his password which he used for his GMail, Nintendo account, MySpace, and loads more! He never did anything to my sites again. | 2008-10-01 | 9:00 PM |
| Brandon | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!Well see, I'm not a retard. I'm not hiding from a hacker tho. CMSimple is gone, and its all pure HTML and simple PHP(to include content). So what is there to hide from?
btw: PHPfileman is AWESOME! The hacker had files on my server and 1and1 just left them, and FTP refused to delete them. So I booted trusty old PHPfileman and clicked delete. No more hacker files. | 2008-10-02 | 6:51 AM |
| Todd | Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!So it might've been FTP that he could've accessed or your account. Sounds like he might've found a way to exploit a script to upload or create a file and then he could transfer what he wanted to your site. He could've done it through anything that was PHP-based. I'd examine the logs and just see what he did and how he got files up there. | 2008-10-02 | 7:02 AM |
| Re:Brandon Cornell.com is back!It was not FTP. only the files in the Brandoncornell.com domain were damaged. even though its a sub folder. | 2008-10-02 | 11:26 AM |
