| Brandon | Personal LifeI'm assuming we all have lives outside of cyberspace, but we don't really talk about them. Sure you might not want to share, but idk :P
Anyways, I am in 10th grade now, with a 97% average this marking period, so my grades are going good. I run a web-site for the schools Fisheries and Wildlife program, which is pretty much the only computer related thing at my school. And like Todd always told me, people became more accepting in high school, I even have a gf, its been over 5 months.
Future plans are pretty rough, I will go to a college for at least 4 years, I'd like to get into hardware engineering, and low level ASM type stuff.
Most of the spare time I have is spent either talking to my gf, messing with hardware or reading OSNews and Gizmodo. I tend to listen to music on my laptop while I'm in my bedroom usual Waylon Jennings, Elvis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and other older music.
Whats going on with you guys? | 2009-04-04 | 9:52 PM |
| ksr | Re:Personal LifeWell, I'm in my final year of Sixth form college, and will be going to university (Imperial College London) next year to study electronic engineering, my main passion aside from programming. I'm currently taking maths, further maths, physics and electronics. I took computing last year but it became too much like business management. When I'm not doing that sort of stuff, I'm out biking or walking in the country with my camera. I also help a couple of local theatre groups with their lighting which is fun.
As for music, I'm into a wide variety - R.E.M., The Doors, Radiohead, Pendulum, Pink Floyd, Sigur Rós are a few of my favourites. Recently I've been getting into more electronic music like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada. | 2009-04-05 | 9:35 AM |
| Todd | Re:Personal LifeGo Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada! Kyle, ever hear of LTJ Bukem? He also does electronic music.
Well I live on the internet. nuff said. lol j/k
Currently I'm in my Freshman year at Bloomsburg and living in one of the dirtiest dorm buildings on campus. I don't mind it too much but others disagree. I'm going to be transferring to Lehigh for next fall so I'll have that to look forward to.
I'm really taking a stab at enterprising and being an entrepreneur since I'd like to start my own software business with more than just two people. :P Then again, that's how they all started. ;)
I like to write software and publish it online. On the side, I like to learn more and more like Assembly programming and hardware engineering. I'd eventually like to build my own PC and mobo from component parts. I write mainly in PHP these days since that's where I think a lot of software firms are going: internet-based applications. For hobby projects, I like to make my own programming languages or at least write up the syntaxes for them and eventually write up the compilers, parsers, etc.
When I'm not at school or on my computer, I like going outdoors with my Boy Scout troop and NYLT staff. I like the ease of having few technology around me and just the general ambiance of the woods. I usually find it really inspiring since I devised some of my software ideas there. Plus I like hanging out with friends and just doing stuff and chilling out. | 2009-04-05 | 11:34 AM |
