JFK | codename:InfinityWhere did the doscore and finntech go for the last few months? both camps have been quiet... is this the end?
lol no we have been working on out newest distribution release!
codnamed Infinity! (build1080d3)
the main reason we have not made a release is we have been trying to put together a new online live cd.now the word live usually means you can run (off the CD) guis, programs etc... but we are taking Doscore Online.
so!,
1: NETWORKING
the next release actually is freeDOS 1.1 (build 2038 may 2009)
With online support (so far) for Vmware, VirtualPC and some limited (mainly common Adapters) network hardware that automatically connects to current networks.
2: APPLICATION MANAGEMENT
we have added support (not in previous versions of doscore) for running dos applications right from the programs button. so now you can add your own customizable links...ie (doom, arachne, fdisk etc..)
3: INTERNET
Infinity will ship with Arachne DOS web browser but!, this is only a part time solution. we have plans to release our own web browser called Orchid which is in development but we dont want to release it until its in late alpha. Online updating which has been tested a lil but still a bit rough.
4: GUI
we have made changes to the gui as seen on the doscore web site.

5: W.I.P
Desktop icons, theme manager, SDK (illkirch).
this cd could be out in mid-late september. | 2009-09-01 | 8:19 AM |
